Tips & Preparation

Best Time to Go

Spring (March - May)

The north is lush and green with wildflowers. Temperatures are ideal for hiking (20-25°C).

Autumn (Oct - Nov)

Crisp air and the olive harvest season. The perfect climate for exploring Wadi Rum and Petra.

Packing Essentials

  • Good hiking boots (broken in)
  • Lightweight, breathable layers
  • Sun protection (Hat, Sunglasses, SPF 50)
  • 3L Water hydration system
  • Headlamp and power bank

Cultural Etiquette

Jordanians are incredibly hospitable. "Ahlan wa Sahlan" (Welcome) is a phrase you will hear often.

Dress Modestly: When passing through villages, please cover shoulders and knees out of respect for local customs.

Tea Culture: Sharing sweet tea is a sign of friendship. Always accept a cup if you have the time!

Memories

The landscapes are vast and changing. Bring a good camera or phone, but remember to look up with your own eyes.

Digital Detox: Signal can be spotty in the wadis. Embrace the disconnection to truly connect with nature.

Note: Drone usage is generally restricted in Petra and Wadi Rum without prior permits.
